This post brings tears to my eyes. You've come full circle from the time in the beginning when you went from heading to Tierra del Fuegin in AK to just living on your bikes and roughly heading south all the while. I wanted to join you for the finale but am back in school. Can't wait to see you guys. A lot has changed while you've been gone and a lot is exactly the same. Mostly everyone has spread out. You're always welcome to crash in Arcata. Love you guys.

Hi, this entry of yours was mi favorito. I feel for you. I have been living vicariously through your epic journey since you got tangled with law in Arizona, the same the time I traded my life of adventurous travel for my own family and settlement. I have been anticipating your arrival on the Southeast side of the Andes(where I spent a year snowboarding and backpacking in 2003), no land or people has touched me in the same way. So your melancholy is giving me sweet chills. The Asado photos are making my mouth water profusely. I too am at an end/beginning due to give birth to my second daughter any day..the most intense and soul searching minutes like your miles. During the hard times of thirsting for my "past life" I've turned to your journal and doused myself to satisfaction. My gratitude runs deep, you have been the antidote in easing my life transition. Hope you capture the treasures along the way..has South Chilean poet Pablo Neruda found you? He writes his of patria well.

When travel becomes only a destination, the journey is dead. I once cycled two and a half years from the Netherlands to Sydney only to stop in Brisbane. I could have made it, no problem, so there was no object in doing so. Never regretted it. Reaching for your destination is fulfilling, reaching it is not.

After reading this post I wanted to let you guys know that you've been a real inspiration to my family and I. I can understand how closing in on the end can make you reflect on what it has all meant but what you can't possibly know is how your epic adventure has touched people you've never even met and stoked them to take their own journey. Thank you.

Ah, Jacob, so sorry that the wind is such a nuisance. I can only imagine the daily grind at the this point in the trip and the need for some sense of rejuvination. Hopefully, your new companions will provide you with the boost you need. We miss you at home and look forward to getting to share plenty of excitement with you when you get here. You'll get to meet Zoe and this this new little one. What an amazing goal you will have accomplished...and the stories Uncle Gibby will have to tell for years to come. ;) May the end of your journey bring you a renewed sense of adventure and accomplishment.
