Jacob.. I’m just so impressed at your survival skills. I just sent you guys $20 on paypal… hopefully it’ll buy breakfast, lunch, dinner or some needed bike part. I doubt you guys are headed through California, but if you’re headed through Novato in Marin County, I’d be stoked to buy you guys a meal and ride my xtracycle along with you for a spell. Your travelogue is awesome and I look forward to every new entry.

IN RESPONSE TO Aunt Marti:

Alcohol does not actually raise internal body temperature. instead, ethanol dilates the bodies’ periferal blood vessels, sending a higher amount of blood to the skins surface (thus the flushed look of innebriated individuals). This actually causes the body to loose warmth at a greater rate as more volume of precious heat is transfered into the external environment. However, liqour on a cold night is a fine sight.

I\’m pretty sure alcohol actually lowers body temperature (it is a depressant).

We use an Alphasmart Word Processor. It is like a keyboard with a tiny LCD screen that can only be used to type. It lasts around 800 hours on 4 AA batteries and can store 100 pages. When we complete a dispatch we upload it at a library or E-Cafe. Otherwise the E-Cafes would take ALL of our money.

Remarkable. Crazy. Impressive. Insane. Well-written. Sobering. THANK you for sharing your experiences. One thing none of you ever writes about is exactly how you are able to spend time on a computer to write all this. Where are you when you are on the computer? I know what you are doing when you are traveling and on your bikes–but I have no picture in my mind of your computer stops. Curious. God continue to bless you and protect you. Love Aunt Marti

PS: I have read that liquor only makes you FEEL like you are warmer. Does it actually raise the heat in your body?
